Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Romanian Orthodox parish in Cambridge, UK, ‘St. John the Evangelist’.

Our parish belongs to the Romanian Orthodox Archiepiscopate of Occidental and Meridional Europe.

The parish began in 2010, when father Aurel Dumitru Radulet offered the first services. The congregation comprises of both Romanian and British Orthodox from Cambridge and the surrounding areas, although predominately Romanian. Therefore, for pastoral and missionary reasons, the language of the services is both Romanian and English, as appropriate. The Romanian parish in Cambridge enjoys a fruitful ecumenical cooperation with the Anglican parish at St Giles', our hosts, which have been very receptive to the needs of our community, particularly in accommodating a more suitable time for our worship on Sunday mornings.

Since March 2014, through God's mercy, the care of the parish was entrusted to Fr Dragos Herescu. Father Dragos served previously as Deacon for the parish, since 2012.
